25. guided parisian day tour in 4 phases

paris is known for its classic antiques and chic furnishings, so it was good to see a shop full of crap.

at only 10am and feeling a little on the chilly side, it was also refreshing to see that the often misrepresented art of park table tennis is alive and kicking in paris as well as in amsterdam.

here we see a montage of the enraptured spectators.

note how the leaves have fallen since our last visit to the luxembourg gardens in episode 14.

the crowds may also have dissappeared, but the boat guy is still there bringing joy to young and old.

while recalcitron tried to haggle a '4 for the price of 2 deal' with the boat guy for some morning recreation, miss adventure stood and refreshed our aquaintance with Mr & Mrs Bibi. lets' listen...

"yes in paris ye olde smoking is still cool and taking it all the way to the grave is an especially well looked upon specialisation".

"look how funny that old geeza looks, with the smoke listing lifelessly out of his snozza".

"i call him 'the bear' 'cause he's airy not just 'airy. if he doesn't come back from hassling the boat guy soon he will get left behind or else we will petrify like that women over there watching the table tennis".

with the boat guy yelling vaguely in their general direction and recalcitron hiding behind a cheeky smile, phase 2 of the walking tour started to earnest.

while living briefly in the city to learn french and pursue other delightful pursuits, before they were Mrs & Mr Bibi, Mr & Mrs Bibi would take this route daily in their pursuit of education.

"just here off to the side of the pantheon you can see the fantastic old library where i used to toil away the hours in quiet repose".

"the city was just electrifying then and now so much so that that aspect seems to expanded and become physicaly manifest". "uuuh hha".

"so bright was the idea one chap had that he spontaniously combusted and left this shadow on the wall for all to remember".

"someone else, a bt more non descript, wanted to become toast to, and so outlined his ideas in a facade over here".

land of the invisible people gave way to phase 3 at the junction of rue muff.

"as we walk, let me tell you a little about the feasting feats of MaChizmo", says Mr Bibi, "they are truely remarkable"

"actually, this first tidbit is about beer not batter - see MaChizmo took the name of this place literally and would 'force' me to watch whole 5 day matches of test cricket in this place when ever the opportunity arose".

"stepping out only to visit this infamous crepier". "the F on this car might even be for 'full' as the evil eye of the mega crepe man..."

"these images bring it all flooding back... the chromatic abberation of late night bowling on old wooden beams".

some things it seems never change. the old street kitchen was still serving up meals of random baggage.

what has changed, is that now the choices are easier to make. life draws us toward rubinesque structure and warm toasty cafes.

does the tiger still stalk the rooster?

or does the ferret sulk?

the answer is of course all contined in the new now. 'and or' is out and 'also ' is in.

sausage is still the answer. it is a complete package and depending on your preference can be always ready offer guidance, comfort and support.

does the bell toll for thee?

phase 4 = eat = walk across town = make a bee line for the house cat's favourite rubbing post.

the neighbours were not that friendly toward the expansion of this ttreat street zone onto their turf.

other neighbours really tried to make the most of all they had.

beverage/buddha/sweet love.
